Andronis Luxury Suites, Santorini, Greece

When living in Europe, sometimes I don’t think we realize how many incredible destinations are so close to us. If we think about dream destinations we soon think of places like Hawaii, Bora Bora, The Bahamas- etc. In reality, we actually don’t need to travel that far to find a true piece of heaven on earth. Santorini is an incredibly beautiful island, shaped by the eruption of a volcano, which has now created the most amazing caldera views and incredible architecture on the cliffs.

One of the hotels offering the famous views is Andronis Luxury Suites. It is a small hotel with 27 award winning villas and suites. The complex is built in the traditional style Santorini is famous for; houses carved into the cliffs offering the most amazing views over caldera, the ocean, and of course the famous sunset.

Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our room, where welcome drinks and canapés were already waiting for us. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the concierge will help you plan and book excursions.

We stayed in an Exceptional Suite with Infinity Pool, which is without any doubt the most amazing hotel room I have ever stayed in. The suite was very spacious, including a lounge area, amazing walk in showers, large walk in closets and a round bed. The interior is just as special as the exterior, with stone materials and wooden details it fits the cave style hotel but it is still modern and luxurious. Everything was extremely clean and well organized, and big comfy pool towels were already laid out for us on the sun loungers.

The outside terrace and pool however are of course what this suite was all about. The terrace featured two large sun loungers, and when you walk a little further you end up in your own private pool with views over the ocean. You also have the option to turn the bubbles on, so you turn it into a hot tub, which is lovely for late at night.

The service in the hotel is exceptional, the staff will bring fresh waters, cookies, weather reports and cute notes with special quotes before bed time. They also turn on all the candles on the terrace so when you come back into the hotel from dinner there’s a magical atmosphere.

Breakfast is served in your suite daily, you fill in a form the night before with your order and preferred time and the staff will bring it to you, and also set up the whole table. Again, staff was always very friendly even though they work so hard! It is very hot in Santorini in June and there are a million stairs! So for the waiters to walk around with large serving plates full of food and drinks on stairs in the heat and still do their job with a smile is touching.

If you want you can spend all day in your own suite and pool, but the hotel also has a general pool, which big comfy sun loungers, a bar and restaurant. The restaurant serves great food during the day, but if you go for dinner you are in for an absolute treat.

The restaurant is located higher up (stairs, again!) so it offers amazing views over the cliffs as well as the ocean. The Lycabettus Restaurant serves incredible food, which can be combined with a wine tasting session. With, again, incredible service, it is a dining experience like no other. The food is delicious and the combination with the view is just out of this world.

The hotel’s location is good as well, if you exit the hotel you are right at the beginning of Oia’s main street. So, it is not too busy and you won’t hear noises at night when you are in your room, but it is easy to walk to the boutique shops and restaurants and discover the rest of the town.

If you want to relax after all the sightseeing, the hotel also has an award winning spa which is the perfect place to unwind and revive. Andronis Luxury suits is the perfect place for you if you are looking for a romantic get away with incredible views and food! I would love to go again- the view is one of those things you will never get bored of!
